What are Restriction Zones?

Restriction Zones are restricted areas for specific vehicleClosed The term vehicle describes what is being routed or planned for. Vehicles are used in route calculation, distance matrix calculation and effectively also in tour planning. In route calculation, vehicle properties like overall size, weight and speed are in focus. In tour planning, it is vehicle properties like capacity and availability. Commonly a vehicle is motorized, like a truck - including its trailer or a car. However also a bike or even a pedestrian are included in this definition. types like trucks with a vehicle weight above 7,5 tones. Delivery vehicles are only allowed to pass through these areas if the start or destination is located inside of those areas.

Why should I use Restriction Zones?

Such zones as part of clean air and action plans were introduced due to EU regulations to reduce air pollution. Other measurements include environmental zones, recommended routesClosed A route corresponds to a path of a vehicle through the underlying transport network. The main attributes of a route are the distance and the time that the vehicle travels along the path., limitation of speed or the management of parking space to reduce parking search traffic. For sure, such restriction areas can influence truck routes massively when trucks have to take a long detour.
